Browns just resigned DA to a multi year deal. Dang, I wanted them to use him as trade bait to get into the first/second round.
Browns also traded their second round pick for DT (DE for 3-4) Corey Williams.http://www.nfl.com/freeagency/story?id=09000d5d806f3718&template=without-video&confirm=true

check out the new additions to the FA. Miami has been really busy. They are also close to signing Calvin Pace and have had talks with Javon Walker.

Browns trade for another DT, Shaun Rogers. Cincy trade fell through and so the Browns trade Leigh Boden and a 3rd (not a good move IMO).

I think the motivation of being on an actual winning team for once should be enough whip Rogers back into shape. Knowing he's playing for a potential AFC North champion team, and a playoff potential team, Rogers will get his mean streak back. You heard it here first. When Rogers was playing to his potential, nobody could stop him. As a DT, only playing about 1/2 the snaps the second half of the season, he still recorded 7 sacks. He's very athletic when healthy, and commands at least 2 blockers every play. Adding Rogers and Williams on the DL makes the Dline stacked with talent, especially with Robaire Smith playing opposite of Williams. Also, adding Rogers will command more attention in the center of the LOS, freeing up the DEs. Which makes them play better, and opens up Wimbley and blitzing lanes up the middle. Having a beast NT is the most crucial part of the 3-4. If Rogers can get back into shape, this trade was an absolute steal for the Browns!
Cleveland Browns 2008 Draft:
1st round: Brady Quinn QB Notre Dame
2nd round: Corey Williams DT Arkansas State
3rd round: trade up w/Leigh Bodden to get Shaun Rogers DT Texas.
sounds like an awesome draft to me! fu

I think that this was a bad move for the browns. Even you said it youself that Shaun Rogers was lazy and out of shape and couldn't play every down (or even most of the downs). Giving up Leigh Bodden, a decent CB, and a third when the Bengals were only gonna give up a 3rd and 5th. i think Booden is worth more than a fifth.

I guess Phil Savage doesnt want the pressure of the draft this year considering had doesnt have on. LOL He has no 1st, no 2nd, no 3rd, and no 5th. Wait they do have two 6th and a 7th, and you know how good Savage is at finding talent in those rounds. Not to much (most teams dont have that much success in those rounds). It's gonna be a boring draft day for borwns fans. They way overpaid for Rogers and it was a bad move IMO

Alan Faneca agent says jet signing not true! now i dont know what to believe. Im gonna leave him listed as a jet and look into it a little more.

Quote :
Alan Faneca's agent denies that his client as signed with the Jets.
"False report. It's a false report," agent Rick Smith said. ESPN's
website reported earlier the two sides agreed to a four-year, $32
million contract. His agent told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette a decision
will come Friday night. It could still be with the Jets, but the Rams
and 49ers are in the mix.

ESPN has Gold signing with the fins

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/transactions

but i believe (and mos of my dolphins site users) that they mistyped it and meant to type Giants LB Torbor

Browns sign WR Donte Stallworth

http://rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_main.aspx?sport=NFL&hl=113516&id=1043....wish

Well, i guess you were right Line Judge, they did sign Stallworth like you thought. Do you still not want him like you said, or do you change you statement about not wanting him???

I LOVE the Browns moves so far!!!

Corey Williams- I wanted him in Free Agency and was dissapointed when he was tagged, but now we got him anyway. Very good DT and will be a good DE in the Browns 3-4

Shaun Rogers- Should be motivated on a potential playoff team and will demand a double team at NT, which the Browns have not seen since switching to a 3-4. Even if he plays lazy, he will be better at NT than any other player on the Browns roster. Giving up Bodden is well worth it IMO because Eric Wright and Brandon McDonald were the 2 best corners the Browns had last year and they will soon be recognized as one of the best CB combinations in the NFL. Daven Holly is fine in the nickel and Kenny Wright will be decent enough as the #4 CB if Cleveland doesn't add one more CB.

Donte Stallworth- The Browns offense now has the potential to be THE BEST in the NFL. Edwards, Stallworth, Winslow, and Jurevicius along with J. Lewis in the backfield is UNSTOPABLE!!!

The Brownies are well on there way to the Super Bowl in the years to come! If I could vote for Phil Savage as President, I would! lol
