PostSubject: Ocho Cinco wants out of Cincy   Mon Feb 04, 2008 10:49 pm

Chad Johnson has told ESPN that he will sit out the entire 2008 NFL season if the Bengals do not trade him. He has mentioned going to the Dolphins, where he would play under Bill Parcells. Apparently, Chad had problems with coach Marvin Lewis and no longer wants to play for him.

i guess now Drew Rosenfels (Chad's agent) is denying that he claimed he will sit out if no traded. It's starting to get pretty messy down in Cincinnati. I think he is causing a lot of problems for Lewis and he will eventually trade Chad Johnson and I also heard that he MIGHT be interested in play for Parcells in Miami.

The Bengals don't plan to trade Johnson. They also don't plan to get a new contract. He's suggested trades to the Washington Redskins or the Miami Dolphins.

Come on down to Miami, Chad Johnson.

I think it's kind of ridiculous that all of a sudden Chad Johnson is falling out of favor with the media and, as it seems, the Cincinnatti front office now that they struggled. If the Bengals had made the playoffs everyone would be fine with him again. They loved him when they made the playoffs but now they have a disappointing season and now he's a team distraction scratch.

Just updating this thread a bit....
On ESPN it sounds as if Chad Johnson could be heading to Washington. Dan Snyder apparently is very interested in the 5 time pro bowler. Still not sure why Ocho CInco would want to leave a team for a team with a new HC, OC, and everything.

I dont see why he would want to go to a team with a bad QB. Thats why I don't think he will end up being traded. I'd like to see him going to Miami but i dont want to give up a 1st rounder for him. I believe that is what someone will have to give up to get him because Deon Branch was traded for a first rounder and Chad is way better than Branch

I wouldn't say Jason Campbell is a bad QB. He was really playing well for a lot of the season.

I would also say that Campbell isn't bad. He definitely is better than any QB in Miami right now. By the looks of things, IF he leaves Cincy, Washington may be his best option as of now.

I didnt mean bad, I meant a compared to a QB of Palmers caliber. and I do remember last years draft, there was a lot of talk about them drafting Brady Quinn and other QB's. And yes he did play well last year. I dont think he is anything special. he isnt a game winner, he is more of a game manager.

And I dont think we know how good our QB' are right now. How can you judge how good aQB is (Beck) from what you saw of him last year. He started two games and had no talent around him. line sucked, WR's (only had ginn, no chambers) No ronnie brown. and No defense. He was put in a situation to fail. ANY QB in the Nfl put in that situation would fail. ANY!

Well, last year was his first real chance. I agree that he is more of a game manager but I think that may be just for now. He was drafted in the 1st round for a reason and I think he has the talent to develop into an above average QB. He may never be a top 10 QB but def top 15.

So was Tim Coach, Ryan Leaf and see what happened to them. I know that there is alot of good QB's that were drafted in the first round but just because he was drafted in the first round doesnt mean he is gonna be great.

Well obviously, but Campbell did something that those two didn't - He played well. I watched him play a few times this year and I think he will be pretty good, but I said he will be a top 10-15 QB - far from great if you ask me.

No but the fact that he was drafted in the first round makes a good case saying he will be decent at least. For every 1 bust you can name, I'll name 5 guys who turned out good. Also, the fact that Campbell learned behind Brunnell for a year, and then took the ropes helps him. Plus, he played alright last year considering he doesn't have the greatest talent at WR. They're WR's are mostly just punt returners first and WR's second. (Santana Moss and Randle El) While Campbell does not/probably will not be comparable to C. Palmer, I think he has made a push already to belong in the top 15-20 QBs in the league. With time, he'll improve also.
